UL 2703: Rack Mounting Systems

PanelClaw is the first U.S. company to have its products listed under UL 2703, a new UL subject specifically focused on solar mounting systems (PanelClaw's UL 2703 Overview [PDF]). Our UL and ETL listings to UL 2703 demonstrate our continued commitment to advanced testing and certification, the effectiveness of our racking systems, and the quality of our manufacturing and operational processes.

To achieve UL 2703 listing, our products successfully completed a rigorous testing program including temperature and humidity cycling to simulate outdoor exposure; electrical resistance and conductance testing; manufacturing and operational quality reviews; and module-specific conductivity and mechanical load testing.

Grounding Simplified

Under UL 2703, all of PanelClaw’s solar mounting systems are UL and ETL listed for electric bonding and grounding, enabling our partners to electrically bond modules and ground arrays simply and quickly—lowering labor costs and eliminating the need for thousands of feet of copper wire and the vast majority of module and racking ground lugs. Multiple strings can be grounded with a single grounding lug when PanelClaw racking is used in conjunction with appropriately UL/ETL tested and listed modules.

All PanelClaw module mounting attachments (“Claws”) are certified as recognized components under UL 2703 for module-to-module and module-to-mounting system electric bonding, allowing PanelClaw partners to drastically reduce grounding material and labor on their arrays.
